India’s ‘SNA Sparsh’ Platform to Revolutionize Scheme Benefit Tracking

On June 20, 2025, the Indian government launched ‘SNA Sparsh,’ a cutting-edge digital platform designed to track benefits under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). Mandated by the Finance Ministry, the system aims to streamline fund flow, enhance transparency, and optimize resource utilization. All ministries, state governments, and Union Territories with legislatures are required to adopt the platform by October 31, 2025, with full implementation starting November 1, 2025.

The initiative aligns with India’s broader Digital India vision, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in July 2025. ‘SNA Sparsh’ leverages advanced digital infrastructure to ensure real-time monitoring of scheme benefits, addressing long-standing issues like delays and mismanagement. The platform integrates with existing systems, enabling seamless data sharing and accountability across government bodies. It draws inspiration from the success of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), aiming to replicate its efficiency in governance.

Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy emphasized the need for transparent delivery during a recent address in Mysuru, highlighting how digital tools like ‘SNA Sparsh’ can ensure benefits reach intended recipients without leakages. The platform is expected to cover over 94 crore people, building on India’s social protection achievements recognized by the International Labour Organization in 2025.

States and Union Territories have been directed to onboard all CSS onto the platform, ensuring standardized processes. The system will provide real-time updates on fund allocation, beneficiary identification, and scheme progress, reducing bureaucratic hurdles. This move is part of the government’s push to modernize governance, following the success of initiatives like the Digital India program and the AI-based Financial Fraud Risk Indicator app, which blocked two lakh high-risk transactions in a pilot run.
